Joaquín and Saviola in the first half and Camacho and Santa Cruz after the break gave Málaga a comfortable 4-0 win over Granada and they move back, at least temporarily, into fourth place in La Liga.
Sevilla, down to ten men before half time after Reyes was ordered from the field of play, salvaged a draw against Espanyol with a last gasp strike from Negredo. Verdú gave Espanyol an early lead from the penalty spot but Rakitic equalised eleven minutes later, also from the penalty spot.
Simao restored Espanyol’s lead on the hour only for Negredo to salvage a point for the visitors with a goal in the 91st minute.
Real Sociedad and Getafe ended up all square at 1-1, both goals coming in the last few minutes. Lafita gave Getafe the lead after 86 minutes and then five minutes later, Carlos Martinez grabbed an equaliser.
