There were plenty of people out on the streets in Málaga on Saturday, Día de la Inmaculada (Immaculate Conception), and most shops in the historical centre, as well as the commercial centres, opened up for business.
However, most people preferred a lazy stroll, gathering round the numerous street artists, taking photos or visiting the ice rink and carousel set up in the centre, keeping their wallets firmly in their pockets when it came to consumer goods.
Trade, for most, was apparently less than on a normal working day, despite the number of people out and about. The exceptions were Toys R Us and Ikea, where long queues at the checkouts were the order of the day.
A leisurely walk around the town on a sunny day and a tasty snack were the preferred pursuits of the majority.
