The Añoreta College Triathlon Club in Rincón de la Victoria has organised the I San Silvestre Road Race, a new race with a few interesting and different aspects. It takes place on Friday December 28th.
It is, in essence, a training session with the Triathlon Club but anyone can take part and the total distance to be covered is eight kilometres. The first three kilometres are a ‘warm-up’ and then it is a five kilometre race up and down the promenade.
There will be no official timekeepers, nor numbers, and the first one over the line is the winner, who will then be responsible for allocating the times of the other competitors.
The event starts at 12:00 and registration for the race begins at 11:30 in the Town Hall. The cost of entry is three sweets, a Christmas cake/pastry or tablet of Turon (nougat). The winner of the race will receive two kilos of sweets with the remainder of the entry fees being given to the Red Cross.
Expect a few surprises relating to the race!
