The Junta de Andalucia has cut funding to Nerja for 2013 from regional taxes by 13%, with the PP claiming that this goes against a regional law passed in 2010 stating that participation in regional taxes should be progressive in order to facilitate decentralisation. Presumably this meant progressive in an upward direction.
On the positive side, and despite the difficult economic situation, the Central Government has increased funding to Nerja for 2013 by 11.4%, meaning that the municipality will receive €4,271,198, which is €237,921 more than in 2012.
