After contracting out the rubbish collection in numerous municipalities, Councils are now beginning to contract out the municipal electricity supply on the pretext of making large savings. Of course they are going to save money, they rarely pay their debts/suppliers.
However, as we have seen recently with the rubbish collection, these debts end up causing crippling strikes which bring the municipalities to their knees. So what next, heaps of uncollected rubbish on darkened streets? At least one will not be able to see it, only smell it.
