The PP parliamentarian for Málaga, Ana Rico, and the Nerja Councillor for Housing, Nieves Atencia, have once again called on the Junta de Andalucia to pay the outstanding amounts relating to the Housing Rehabilitation Plan 2008-2012 in which 14 local residents participated.
At a press conference, Ana Rico said that in the last full parliament meeting she asked the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Elena Cortés, when the outstanding amounts would be paid.
The response by the Minister was that 99.4% of monies had been paid and that only €41,000 remained which was ‘of any relevance to proceedings’. This prompted Ana Rico to accuse the Minister of not telling the truth as just in Nerja, Alhaurín de la Torre and Alhaurín el Grande the outstanding amounts are €100,139.
In addition, it was pointed out that the Plan only took place in the first year and since then, nothing.
Both Ana Rico and Nieves Atencia noted that the Plan was to aid people with few resources or in adverse conditions, such as the elderly, unemployed and disabled, and although €2,500 may not be a significant amount for a Councillor or other politician, it certainly is for these people.
