Despite the Government decree suspending the Christmas bonus payments, it is reported that around 100,000 civil servants have obtained the bonus, with municipal and regional authorities going to great lengths to camouflage such payments.
If only they would put as much time and effort into solving the economic problems. There were apparently ‘advance payments’ of the 2013 bonus which is not affected by the decree, ‘clothing allowances’, a ‘performance bonus’ scheme, the 2013 bonus divided into three instalments which could be claimed now and various other supplements, schemes and ruses.
The Government has announced that it will appeal against the trickery used to thwart attempts to control the pay of the civil servants.
