The latest survey by the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) shows that 60.9% of those unemployed see little or no chance of getting a job in the next twelve months and 29.2% view their chances of obtaining a job as ‘likely’ or ‘somewhat likely’.
Of those in employment, 69.3% see little or no likelihood of losing their jobs, while 22.3% consider it ‘likely’ or ‘very likely’ that they will be joining the ranks of the unemployed.
A majority 71.3% considered that sacrifices were needed now to ensure a good life in the future and 65.2% thought that things will work out in the end. On the other hand, 58.5% think that the future is so uncertain that it is better to focus on the present and live for today.
