More than 80% of the workforce of Lipasam, the municipal cleaning service in Sevilla, have voted to begin an indefinite strike as from January 28th.
According to the unions, the last meeting with the company was ‘a joke’ with the only proposal being put forward being a choice of how to save the company €3.3 million. The company already operates a 37.5 hour working week and salaries have been cut by five percent.
A strike would affect around 700,000 people, which would lead to a lot of garbage being left on the streets.
