The strike by rubbish collectors in Granada continues after the workers rejected the deal struck by the unions and management of the municipal cleaning company Inagra.
The unions had agreed to a 2.5% pay cut this year but a 0.75% increase in 2014 and a cost of living rise in 2015.The two sides had conducted sixteen hours of meetings to reach the agrteement. However, when put to the employees of Inagra it was rejected.
Around 2,300 tons of rubbish litter the streets of Granada, leading to complaints by hoteliers and traders in the city.
