Persistence and a barrage of motions appears to have paid off for once as the Councillor for Housing has announced that the Junta de Andalucia has finally settled its outstanding debt relating to the Regional Housing Rehabilitation Programme from 2008.
Fourteen families, generally elderly, unemployed or otherwise needy, were involved in the scheme to carry out renovations to their homes. However, it has taken the regional authority five years to recompense these families for the repairs carried out.
The Rehabilitation Plan was supposed to be for the period 2008 to 2012 but no further actions were carried out after the initial start of the programme.
