Around 40 tons of rubbish has accumulated on the streets of El Coronil, Sevila, during fifteen days of strike action by the rubbish collection service. El Coronil has a population of around 5,000 people.
The unions are protesting at the Council decision to cancel the ‘bolsa de trabajo’ as it has no money to take on any more staff.
Talks have so far failed to reach a solution to the situation and both sides in the dispute have accused each other of violating minimum service level agreements.
