The Minneapolis based company Cargill has ceased to have any direct manufacturing base in Andalucia following the closure of its sunflower seed crushing plant and oil bottling facility in Sevilla. The silos in Córdoba have also been closed.
The closure affects 101 employees and is blamed on falling demand and competition from Eastern Europe.
Cargill began manufacturing in Spain in 1960 and the Sevilla plant was opened in 1984.
