The old Town Hall building in Fuengirola, located between calle Camino de Coín and calle Alfonso XII, is to be renamed the Hotel Casa Consistorial and turned into a luxury boutique hotel.
The society Proyectos Empresariales Fuengiroleños is responsible for the renovation of the building and will also manage the resulting hotel with a 40 year concession. The society is investing €5.7 million in the project as well as paying a monthly fee of €1,700 to the Council.
Part of the agreement signed with the Council relates to the preferential hiring of 25 local unemployed.
The building has a floor area of 1,719 square metres, is on two floors and will have around 40 rooms – 32 doubles, 7 junior suites and a presidential suite. The idea is to appeal to both the business and tourism sectors.
The renovation works are currently scheduled to be completed in June 2013.
