Torrox Council has approved an amendment to the municipal ordinance relating to the Occupation of Public Roads which will affect the installation of furniture and other items relating to entrepreneurial activity in public spaces.
Firstly, there is a general reduction in the monthly tax levied for the occupation of public spaces which will benefit local businesses, particularly bars and restaurants.
Secondly, account will be taken of businesses occupying public spaces on a temporary basis.
A third change is the creation of an annual payment to take into account businesses who occupy public spaces throughout the year, not just during the high season.
