The Nerja Councillor for Beaches, Nieves Atencia, is apparently far from amused after receiving a letter from the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Axarquia stating that the Junta de Andalucia seems to have decided not to provide financial assistance for the placing of marker buoys and beach cleaning for last season and that, as a result, the various municipalities will have to fund this action themselves.
In the case of Nerja, the cost is estimated at around €100,000. Nevertheless, the Councillor still proposes to request financial assistance for 2013.
Don’t they do marker buoys which are more durable and last for more than one short season? Seems a bit expensive on the face of it.
