The residents of two buildings on the Camino de Ronda in Granada had to be evacuated from their homes early on Sunday morning after a fire in a garage caused thick smoke.
The fire began at around 06:25 in the garage of a seven-storey building, burning two cars and a motorcycle and with thick smoke spreading through the building and the adjoining block.
Twenty-three residents had to be evacuated and they were taken by bus to a nearby police facility in Huerta del Rasillo. One person had to be taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
