According to a report by the General Council of the Judiciary, there have been over 400,000 foreclosures in Spain since 2007 and the dubious honour of top region for evictions goes to Andalucia (81,160), followed by Cataluña (79,.043) and the Comunidad Valenciana (77,435).
Foreclosures during the period January to September 2012 rose by 18.3% when compared to the same period in 2011 and sets a new record.
In terms of evictions, the Comunidad Valenciana topped the list during the first nine months of 2012 with 12.464, an increase of 23.2% over 2011. They were followed by Andalucia with 9,920, an increase of 36.7% and Madrid with 7,761, an increase of 8.6%. Evictions in Cataluña actually fell by 4.3% to 4,727.
