It is the awards season and at the Goyas, the Spanish equivalent of the Oscars, it was the film Blancanieves (Snow White), directed by Pablo Berger, which dominated proceedings, collecting no less than 10 gongs including best film.
There was somewhat of a surprise in the best director category after hot favourite Berger lost out to J A Bayona for the film ‘Las aventuras de Tadeo Jones’. The film picked up three Goyas, winning in each of the categories in which it was entered.
The award for best actor went to José Sacristán and best actress was Maribel Verdú.
