Vélez-Málaga Council is proposing a Municipal Employment Plan aimed at promoting access to the labour market of around 450 veleños.
The Plan envisages two forms of aid, by means of grants, with one being applicable to the summer months and the other being generic.
The generic system would provide aid to employers of €300 per month up to a maximum of €1,800 (i.e. a six month contract) per worker employed. The second, summer system would provide aid of €300 per worker up to a maximum of €600 for people taken on in the months prior to or following the summer holiday period.
The grants are aimed at offsetting the social costs of employing staff. The Council foresees an initial outlay of around €300,00 but hopes to provide another €200,000 at a later stage. The Council is also seeking funding for the project from the regional and central governments.
