A total of 41 municipalities in Málaga province, including Nerja, are participating in the III Bienal de Arte Flamenco in Málaga which begins in Thursday February 28th and continues until September.
The festival includes 147 activities, of which 75 are shows, concerts and recitals involving some 200 artists. Other activities include workshops, book publications, discussions and exhibitions.
On Thursday February 28th, the festival begins at the Cervantes Theatre in Málaga with a tribute to Juan ‘Habichuela’. In Nerja, the already planned concert by guitar maestro Manolo Sanlúcar on July 27th, forming part of the Nerja Caves Concerts, will now also become part of the III Bienal de Arte Flamenco.
Manolo Sanlúcar will perform a symphonic version of Medea and will be accompanied by the Málaga Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Italian conductor Carlo Palleschi.

La Macanita, El Torta, Fernando de la Morena and Luis El Zambo (July 5th in Ronda), Argentina (July 6th in the castillo de Sohail in Fuengirola), Farruquito (July 13th in the Príncipe de Asturias), Miguel Poveda (July 26th in the Plaza de Toros in Antequera), Manuel Molina and Angelita Montoya (August 9th in Benalmádena), Paco Cepero (August 9th in La Paloma in Benalmádena), Vicente Amigo (September 12th in La Malagueta) and La Moneta and El Pele (September in Málaga Port).
