This, unfortunately, is not an isolated case these days with many such comments appearing on various forums:
My wife and I have just revisited Nerja after an absence of 15 years and I was astounded by the amount of development that has taken place during this time. I still think the town is outstanding and would love to spend more winter holidays there now that we have both retired.
We were however disgusted at the amount of dog fouling which was present in many parts of the town and in particular on the walk beside the river. I for one prefer to look at buildings, flowers and views rather than looking where I am putting my feet. For a town and economy which relies on tourism this is something that really must be rectified as I for one could not recommend the town to potential visitors.
