As the Easter holiday period rapidly approaches, chiringuito owners in Málaga have denounced the poor state of many of the beaches, noting 25 areas where sand needs replenishing or infrastructure needs repairing after the recent storms.
The idea of constructing permanent breakwaters is apparently taking shape but currently lacks the political will and budget. In other words, nothing is happening on that front.
The Association of Employers of the Costa del Sol Beaches is requesting a change to the new law which requires chiringuitos to be 200 metres apart, which would see some establishments disappear. They want to see this reduced to 150 metres.
