Barcelona became the first club in Champions League history to overturn a two goal deficit without the advantage of an away goal, beating AC Milan 4-0 at the Bernabeu.
The only way to play Barcelona in the first half would have been for AC Milan to bring their own ball as Barcelona weren’t allowing them to play with theirs.
Messi opened the scoring after just eight minutes of play and later added a second. David Villa added a third before Jordi Alba completed the rout late in the second half.
Barcelona did look a bit vulnerable at the back, so it was probably just as well they kept hold of the ball. When AC Milan did occasionally get the ball, particularly in the second half, they did look dangerous and should have made more of their few opportunities.
As for Lionel Messi, he had a great game. What a player. Unselfish, seemingly everywhere from defence to attack and in front of goal, invariably lethal. And refreshing to see a player who, after being fouled, just gets up, dusts himself off, smiles and gets on with the game, unlike some (eh Pedro).
