The recent rains have caused €300,000 worth of damage to roads and agricultural tracks in the Serrania de Ronda, according to Ronda Council.
The municipality has over 500 kilometres of rural roads and lanes, the second largest in Málaga province, and municipal technicians are busy inspecting roads and assessing damage, some of which is serious.
The Councillor for Rural Development and Districts, Jesús Vázquez, stated: ‘You can count on our guarantee that we are willing to repair the damage, which in some places, as I say, is very serious’. However, to carry out the repairs the Council wants funding from the Central, Regional and Provincial Governments as they themselves apparently do not have sufficient resources.
