The body of a well dressed man in his seventies was found on Friday evening near the rocks at El Muerto beach between Peñón del Gato and Marina del Este in Almuñécar, Granada.
The body, surrounded by blood, was discovered on Friday evening by two women who were out walking along the beach.
The deceased has been identified as a 76 year old Belgian national living in the Las Peñuelas district of the town. The body had stab wounds to the chest and a knife was strapped to the man’s right hand.
Police are not ruling out any possibility at the moment, from suicide to foul play, and are waiting for the results of an autopsy.
El Muerto beach is a nudist beach, although it is also frequented by non-naturists, and is accessed via Cotobro beach.
