According to the Councillor for Tourism, hotel occupancy over the Easter Period reached 85.2% – Thursday to Saturday being 85.2% and whole week occupancy being 78.2% – which puts it well above the figure of 70% for the rest of the Costa del Sol.
The Nerja Tourist Office received 2,155 visits over Easter, the majority, 928, being domestic tourists with the British in second place with 418 and Germans in third place with 241.
The Council also points out that Nerja retains ‘a very acceptable level of employment, above average in the province’.
