Iberia pilots, represented by the union SEPLA, have overwhelmingly rejected the mediation agreement on restructuring and redundancies proposed by professor Gregorio Tudela and signed by the main ground staff and cabin crew unions and the management of the company.
It is reported that 93% of the votes cast were against the mediation agreement. However, SEPLA says they are still willing to negotiate, despite the rejection.
Under the ERE proposed by IAG, the holding company for Iberia and British Airways, pilots could face salary cuts of up to 45%.
