Police have arrested the 46 year old head of a veterinary clinic in Benijófar, Alicante, for his alleged involvement in the death of his wife and her subsequent dismemberment and incineration.
The detainee stated that on the morning of March 28th he found his wife dead on the floor of the veterinary clinic. He said death was probably caused by a massive intake of drugs kept on the premises and he tried for several hours to revive her.
Having failed in his efforts to revive her, he dismembered the body and transported it to his home in Dolores. He then contacted the company he regularly used to incinerate animals put down at the clinic, saying that he had the remains of a ‘large dog’ for collection.
The company duly collected 30 bags of remains for incineration, not querying the ‘large dog’ scenario as he was a regular client.
His children frequently asked about the whereabouts of their mother to which he replied that she was ‘travelling’.
Police are investigating the detainee’s involvement in the actual death of his wife.
