The poster for the Day of the Cross on May 3rd has been officially presented and the subsidies and prizes for the various categories have been agreed.
The Day of the Cross is a very colourful event with street parties in many parts of the town. The Tourist Office produces a map showing the locations of all the crosses so you don’t miss any of the action.
The subsidy for the crosses is €90 per cross for adults and €30 for children. The prizes for cross and ambiance are €500, €350 and €150 for adults and €200, €100 and €80 for crosses set up by children.
The prizes for the best ‘arropia’ are €200, €100 and €75.
To be eligible for subsidies and participation in the contests, the crosses must be officially registered and this can be done in person at the Department of Popular Traditions in calle Cristo or by calling 952 520 190, 952 526 916, from 10:00 to 14:00. The deadline for registration is Friday April 26th 2013.
