The Council has approved the commissioning of a study on the stability of the Paseo de los Carabineros, the former walkway connecting Calahonda beach with Burriana beach which was closed many years ago due to a rockslide.
The study is seen as one of the preliminary steps required in order to reopen a stretch of the walkway. The project for the new walkway is already being drafted.
The original walkway was a picturesque route from Calahonda beach to Burriana beach, winding its way along the coast beneath the cliffs. The proposed new walkway would be further from the cliff face and would be a circular route with two viewpoints. It would be around two hundred metres in length.
