Many, if not most, of the bars and restaurants in the centre of Ronda offer a plate of mixed tapas – usually four cold and four hot – for a fairly standard price of €10 or, in some cases now, for €9. So, ‘when in Ronda…’ as they say.
There were nine items on my platter at La Taberna in Plaza del Socorro, a picturesque square with a central fountain and loads of watering holes all the way round.
There were three different salads, including tuna and crab and egg, chorizo sausages, a mini hamburger, croquettes and a prawn in batter.
Very filling!
I did discover the difference between the €10 offerings and the €9 offering, as was the case at La Taberna. The €10 ‘Mixed Tapas’ included one or two drinks in the price, and the signs often mentioned this. With the €9 ‘Mixed Tapas’, drinks were extra – €1.50 for a beer.
