The new PGOU (General Plan) currently being drafted for Comares includes plans for the construction of 405 homes during the coming years, of which 165 will be subsidised VPO or VPP dwellings.
The new Plan, compliant with the requirements of POTAX and POTA, still has to be approved by the Junta de Andalucia.
The Plan also includes the creation of two small industrial estates with up to 80 warehouses to meet future demand, the investment of €7,530,404 to fund eight projects relating to the improvement to the road network, an investment of €1,437,750 for infrastructure relating to sewage and water treatment and an investment of €1,095,780 in eleven projects to improve the water supply in the municipality.
In addition, there is €794,125 set aside for improvements to paved areas and gardens in the centre and in Ventorros and there will be improvements made in the residential areas of Mazmullar, El Romo, Llano de Almendra, Las Cuevas, Los Hijanos, Los Gallegos and la Alquería.
Also envisaged is the setting aside of a total of 87,315 square metres of land for public use and enjoyment and 11,505 square metres of land for the creation of a permanent feria ground.
All phases of the Plan have apparently been agreed with the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation and with the Management Services for Planning, Urbanism and Environment, which would just leave approval by the Junta de Andalucia.
