The A1 in the direction of Irún had to be closed today, Sunday, following a multiple collision involving dozens of vehicles which occurred near Honrubia de la Cuesta in Segovia.
Hailstones are believed to be partly responsible for the incident in which eight people have been injured. There were several other accidents on the A1 between km 137 and km 145 in the direction of Madrid but these involved fewer vehicles.
On April 30th, the same stretch of road, although in the direction of Madrid, was the scene of a collision involving 20 vehicles with nine people being injured on that occasion. A hailstorm was also in progress at the time of the incident.
