In the early hours of Saturday morning, Guardia Civil officers intercepted a shipment of 1,800 kilos of hashish being brought in by boat down the río Guadarranque, Cádiz province. There have been no arrests so far.
A suspicious boat was spotted by the SIVE surveillance system and was then follwoed by a Maritime Rescue vessel which happened to be in the area at the time. The boat went in to the río Guadarranque where ground patrols were established on both sides of the river.
The boat was located about twenty metres from San Roque and was loaded with 66 bales of hashish weighing around 1,800 kilos.
