There are now two free ‘municipal’ car parks at El Playazo beach, one at each end, and there are small signs warning that there is no parking anywhere along the track. Today there were two Local Police cars down at the beach to ensure that the rules are obeyed, even by scooter drivers.
The new car park, at the western (Marinas de Nerja) end of the beach is accessible from the beach and from the N-340 coast road. The car park entrance is suitably signposted. Heading out of Nerja, towards Torrox, you need to continue to the Punta Lara roundabout in order to head back towards Nerja to gain access to the car park as the road has a solid white line in the centre.
