Torrox Council is finalising the paperwork to begin a number of infrastructure projects, with €970,000 of funding having been made available through a budget amendment and a further €500,000 from the Fund for Sustainable Tourism.
Amongst the works being planned are the first stage of repairs to the Rejana bridge, urbanisation of avenida de Andalucía, a skate park, works to improve road safety on three sections of the N-340 (Manzano-Granizo, Lentiscares-Gasolinera and Rubarsal-Mascuñar), asphalting on avenida de las Palmeras and Colinas del Sol, road safety improvements in avenida de Andalucia and replacement lighting and street furniture on the promenade at Ferrara Playa.
According to the Councillor for Infrastructure, María Estrella Tomé, regardless of the importance of these infrastructure projects, they have the added benefit of creating employment. And, of course, municipal income.
