More than 5,000 people attended the first Dia de la Trilla (Day of the Thresher) in the small Málaga town of Sedella, population around 700.
This new festival joins the more established list of festivals celebrated in the province, such as the Dia de Ajoblanco in Almáchar, the Día de la Cereza (Day of the Cherry) in Alfarante, the Día de la Pasa (Day of the Raisin) in El Borge, the Fiesta de las Migas in Torrox and the Día de Caracol (Day of the Snail) in Riogordo.
There was an exhibition of threshing, the separation of the wheat from the chaff, a tour of local restaurants to taste local dishes such as goat, fennel salad and gazpacho and various forms of entertainment including a crafts market.
