A judge has ordered the provisional imprisonment of the 40-year-old priest, director of the Salesionos College in Cádiz, following the accusations of corporal punishment, threats and non-consensual touching of over forty young pupils at the school.
The priest was taken to the El Puerto prison following his appearance in court. Outside the court, a group of students and parents gathered in support of the priest, proclaiming his innocence.
The priest is accused of corporal punishment, threats and non-consensual touching relating to thirteen pupils at the school, the pupils aged between 12 and 14 years. A further thirty pupils are being interviewed in connection with the accusations.
