Ronda Council has awarded the contract for the cleaning and maintenance of most of its green areas to a special employment centre, the Centro Especial de Empleo Accesibilidad Comarcal, and will run for one year and involve four companies, three of them from Ronda.
The budget for the work is €63,234 but the successful contract bid was for €78,650. Trouble ahead?
The employment centre will be responsible for the centre of Alameda del Tajo, Blas Infante, plaza Teniente Arce, plaza de España and plaza del Socorro. In the historic centre, the employment centre will cover plaza Duquesa de Parcent, del Campillo, Cuesta de las Imágenes, Puerta de Almocábar, plaza Pons Sorolla and the Pinsapo roundabout.
In the San Francisco district it will cover calle Torrejones, calle Historiador Rivera Valenzuela, calle Algatocín, plaza Virgen de Loreto, Ruedo Alameda and the areas of Planilla; and the Parque de San Rafael.
The centre will also take over the cleaning and maintenance of water drains, irrigation systems and children’s play areas.
The existing five Council employees will be responsible for the rest of the town.
