The forest fire on the island of Mallorca continues to burn out of control and around 700 residents in the area around Estellencs have been evacuated from their homes as a precautionary measure.
The fire began at 12:30 on Friday in the Sa Coma Calenta area near Andratx and has so far destroyed up to 2,000 hectares of pine forest. It is the worst fire on the island since 1999.
The flanks have been stabilised, although they are still not under control, and the main attention is now being focused around Estellencs where the flames continue to advance towards homes.
