Summer is the fire season and the latest is a blaze which started on Wednesday in Valdepeñas de la Sierra, Guadalajara, and is still not under control.
The fire has so far destroyed 1,300 hectares of ceral and scrub land and has resulted in the evacuation of around 200 people from their homes in Valdesoto and Tortuero.
There are 21 aerial, 43 land-based units and around 350 personnel involved in fighting the fire. Much depends on weather conditions as far as when the blaze can be controlled and stabilised.
