The driver arrested in Madrid for allegedly killing a cyclist has been released from custody but has surrendered his passport and must report to the authorities every Monday.
The driver, Mauricio Eduardo A. G., had already lost his licence, had been convicted in 2012 for driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving, and was banned from driving until 2017, although he had already violated this ban in February 2013.
He has already been charged with negligent homicide but further criminal charges are likely to follow.
