The passenger of the light aircraft which crashed near the airfield in Vélez-Málaga on Friday afternoon has died from his injuries.
The plane crashed about 500 metres from the Real Aeroclub, located in El Trapiche, on Friday afternoon killing the pilot, Javier Fernández, and leaving the passenger, a 50-year-old Spanish national who lived in Brazil, with very serious injuries.
The injured man was rushed to hospital and underwent emergency surgery for fractures of both legs and his pelvis. At around 21:30 he suffered cardiac arrest and died in hospital.
The pilot, Javier Fernández, was the Spanish aerobatics champion in 2010 and was a member of the Real Aeroclub in Granada.
