Seprona, the Nature Protection wing of the Guardia Civil, raided a warehouse in Málaga and seized over one thousand illegal pastries destined for the hostelry sector in Málaga.
Custard desserts, rice pudding, cheese cake and chocolate puddings were amongst the items being produced without anyone having even the minimum qualifications necessary for such work and with no minimum labelling, list of ingredients, trade name, manufacturer’s name, medical information etc. The desserts did, however, have an expiration date.
There were no sanitary and other licences necessary for the legal production of such foods.
Inspections were also carried out on 14 catering establishments who had acquired the illegal desserts and were displaying them on their menus.
