Three cyclists, two of them minors, have died in road traffic accidents during the past 24 hours.
A 13-year-old boy died as he rode his bicycle across a pedestrian crossing on avenida Juan de Borbón in Murcia, hit by a car. The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old, remained at the scene until an ambulance arrived.
The boy, unconscious and bleeding from the head and nose, was rushed to the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca but died from his injuries.
A 15-year-old was knocked down and killed while out training on his bicycle near Fuentecantos, Soria, The vehicle driver fled the scene but was located and arrested a few hours later.
In a third incident, a cyclist was killed on the BV-2127 in Vilobí del Penedès, Barcelona.
