You learn something new every day. One often sees events where there is ‘collaboration’ by a local authority. This seems to mean that when things go well, which is probably 99% of the time, it is an opportunity for free political publicity, much self-congratulatory back-patting and a photoshoot. Maybe even the odd attendance allowance thrown in.
If something should go wrong, such as with the beach volleyball tournament on La Misericordia beach in Málaga (see Málaga News), the local authority has no responsibility in the matter as they did not actually organise it. Talk about the best of both worlds.
