Anyone wishing to renew their DNI, or those wishing to apply for the first time, in Nerja rather than having to go to Torre del Mar could still have the chance to do so by registering at the Municipal Office of Citizen Services, located on the second floor of the Town Hall, or by calling 951 70 80 90.
If 60 people register then a DNI unit of the National Police will travel to Nerja to carry out the paperwork. So far, 20 people have registered.
For renewals, applicants will need to take the expired DNI, birth certificate if there have been any changes to personal details and a copy of the padrón if there has been a change of address. The cost is €10.40. If the DNI to be renewed is the old blue type then the copy of the padrón will be a necessity. In the case of loss or theft of DNI, a copy of the denuncia will be needed.
In the case of first time applicants, the items needed are a photo, birth certificate and a copy of the padrón. Minors need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Once again the cost is €10.40.
