A voyeur, a 40-year-old Polish tourist, was caught as he wandered along La Cepa beach in Fuengirola taking close-up videos of topless women bathers.
At first it was thought that the tourist, dressed in swimming trunks, carrying a backpack and with video camera in hand, was just taking pictures of landscapes, but it soon became apparent he was targeting topless bathers.
He was approached by a couple whose niece had been filmed and, realising he had been caught, offered to hand over the film if they refrained from calling the police. The couple ignored his offer and called the lifeguards who in turn informed the Local Police.
The tourist was held until the police arrived. The tourist handed over the camera to the police who, having viewed the content, removed the stored images and confiscated the video camera. The man apologised for his actions and admitted that he had been filming all morning.
Police then tried to calm the small crowd of enraged bathers.
