The III Rio Chillar Clean-up Day takes place on Sunday September 15th and anyone interested in volunteering and joining in can do so by registering at the office of the Municipal Council of Sports, the Civil Protection headquarters, the Youth Information Centre in calle Cristo, the Municipal Citizen’s Service or the Nerja Cultural Centre in calle Granada.
As usual there will be two routes available, one more difficult and requiring a certain level of fitness and a second, easier route which is also suitable for children. The easier route is a question of going as far as you feel comfortable and then returning the same way.
The meeting place for both routes is the market site in Almijara II, the time 08:30. Those choosing the more difficult route will be taken further in vehicles, those choosing the easier route will begin from the staging area.
Volunteers should wear suitably comfortable footwear which they don’t mind getting wet and take along a hat, water and maybe some food.
The whole project was the idea of Sergio Casanova, a Civil Protection volunteer.
